In Spring 2015, Prof. Robert Mason and Prof. Brant Houston, gave invited distinguished lectures at Iowa State University on "Social Media Research:Approaches, Findings, Challenges," and "Intersections of Journalism with Computer Science and Data", respectively. The talks were funded by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences under the Signature Research Initiatives grant entitled "Building Research Community in Computational Communication & Journalism and Political Informatics."
